It might work but NI8 is not officially compatible with the new versions of PS. You can try to manually copy the plug-in (NeatImage8.8bf) to the folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024\Plug-ins\
and restart PS. It might work then.

Yes, different display algorithms differ in quality of image visualization vs speed of processing.

That expectation is not correct. Different viewers have different methods of displaying image in lower zoom levels. leading to different visual results. They usually have the same methods for the 100% zoom level, so the images should normally look the same at 100% zoom.

Do you compare the look of the images at the 100% zoom level?

The screenshots do not show the whole windows of both applications so it is difficult to tell.

If you can describe the exact steps leading to that message and can send the required sample images to support [at] neatimage.com, then we will reproduce the issue on our test computers and see what is causing the problem. Could be a problem with one of the image, could be something else.
