I have used NI for several years and have not had problems with skin tones going plastic. I have an Olympus e300 and e1 camera and create a profile for each at the ISO settings from 100 to 1600 using NI profile test chart. I also find that NI can create an excellant profile using the auto profile fu...

The intent is too get an out of focus image to supress any details that might be interpreted as noise. I just adjust the focus to get a blury image and it works just fine.

I forgot to move the new plugin.

The only problem I see with 3.0 is that now people are going to have to spend a lot of time coming up with something new to complain about! :D

Thanks for your reply

Speed..plugin vs stand alone

Neat Image 3.0 Pro+
Photoshop CS on Dell 4600 Pentium 4 2.8Gz 1Gb DDR 333MHz
using the same image of 2240x1680 pixels
The stand alone program runs at 11.3 MPix/min (20seconds)
The plugin does 4.3 MPix/min (53 seconds)
Is this a Photoshop limitation?

I forgot about the difference between rough analysis and equilizer. If I had thought about this for another week, I may have figured it out!
Thanks

Auto fine tune

Hi Vlad.. With Pro Plus, the stand alone progam starts out with "prodile not ready" in the Device noise profile tab.(I haven't assigned a profile yet) and the Auto fine tune button is grayed out..not avialabe. I thought from posts earlier this year, that the Auto fine tune would function w...

I use two versions of the same program in certain circumstances, and not just NeatImage. Usually it is for a short period of time, say 1 month or less.

You were obviouly caught in a Temporal Anomaly or a discontinuity in the Space-Time Continuum, depending on which Star Trek episode you last watched. :D

Have you tried taking long exposures with the lens cap on and using NeatImage to generate a profile? You would also have to compensate for any stuck pixels.

not a prioity for me

It doesn't seem like changing the program to save a few mouse clicks per year is worthwhile. Just my opinion. :)

Vlad..

Of course you realize as soon as you put in more automation, people will start wanting more manual control! :D

Patience is a virtue

They have been working on the plug-in for some time and have responded to many inquires about it's progress on this forum....I for one appreciate a tested, working product, and not one that is released prematurely.

Keep up the good and accurate work, NI team!
