I don't know if this is documented anywhere, but I just tried it with 4.25 Pro+, and the batch queue limit appears to be 3000 images. You'll have to break up your 100000-frame job into about 34 batches, but at least that's still better than doing them one at a time.

I have confirmed that NeatImage 4.25 no longer has this problem on either my desktop or laptop XP systems! Once again, an excellent example of the high level of customer service here! :D

Well, it's not the whole idea, but the ability to have independent, scalable memory buses is a major feature of the Opteron architecture. However, you need a motherboard that supports this (which are much more expensive), as well as an OS that is NUMA-aware (which 32-bit Windows XP is not, although ...

I am running with the "Windows Classic" theme on both my desktop and laptop. I may have the Theme Manager disabled on just my laptop, which could explain the difference in error messages. However, the Theme Manager is active on my desktop, but the dialog box still appears. However, I did t...

I can't seem to reproduce this on my setup (NI Pro+ 4.2, XP Pro, PSCS). This is what I do: Open image. Lasso a random selection. Right click and do "Layer via Copy". New layer is automatically selected. Run NI plugin on whole layer using custom profile and Default filter settings. The NI p...

I tried WinRAR from the command line and timed five runs each of a single instance vs two parallel instances. Both were compressing their own copies of a 322MB folder of Visio stencils (46.24% compression): 1 instance: 2m21s 2 instances: 2m35s, or about 90% efficiency So not too bad even in that cas...

Here's a target you can shoot for. ;) I don't know if you are familiar with ImageMagick, but it is a suite of command-line image processing tools for UNIX, but also run under the Cygwin environment on Windows. I tried a similar test with ImageMagick. I took the same test image each time and performe...

Wow... so the pixel dimensions had something to do with it to, eh? Yeah, now that I think about it, I did test on hundreds of images, but they had all be produced by C1, which gives me 3076x2052 JPEGs, instead of 3072x2048 from the camera (with a nice multiple of 8 pixels in both directions). Well I...

I've run into this problem elsewhere too... perhaps the problem here is due to this:

That's what I'm thinking too. Since NI does not try to divide one image amongst multiple CPU's, but rather assigns whole images to each CPU, there should not be any interdependency at the application level. Each image processing thread should be able to work completely independently of the others, u...

Yes, I actually duplicated the JPEG file on disk 40+ times so I could use the batch directory function. Exact same image over and over and over again. :)

Multiprocessor scalability

( from http://www.neatimage.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2818 ) Same hardware as above, but now running 4.2 Pro+, and I'm doing a batch of 10 copies of the same image: Time (10 images, processing only): 3m36s, 21.93 megapixels/minute Time (10 images, loading + processing + saving): 3m52s, 20.42 megapix...
