Plug-In - it works!

The Neat Photoshop plug-in works well. I guess the big advantage is being able to use Neat on a layer, keeping open the option of blending to selectively apply Neat without having to cut and paste from different images. A further refinement that would be nice would be to be able to run the batch pro...

New Review

You might want to add the latest Neat review on the Luminous Landscape to your reviews list.

Isn't manual control really all about psychology? People believe they are getting better results because they have manual control, whereas in reality the software could do at least as well on its own in most cases.

Complete automation?

Auto fine tuning works well for most images, I have found. I wonder whether you could complete the automation process by allowing Neat also to select the main selection? I can see this would not be desirable for the best results, but it would make batch processing from different cameras easy. Quentin

Hooked

Once you start using Neat, it's difficult to give up. :) There really is *minimal* useful image information loss if used correctly. Ran it overnight on a 500mb large format image. Can't go back to the original, as although the grain and noise is not great (Velvia scan) , the Neat version is much bet...

I just filtered a 280mb 8 bit drum scan of a 4x5 transparency (cropped). Took around 40 mins on an Athlon XP 2100+, 1.5gb Ram. I don't think that is excessive, given the high quality end result. I ran a test to assess any loss of sharpness, or image acutance or detail, by using Nik Sharpener Pro's i...

Bought the Pro edition; look forward to receiving the download code/details when I am back at my regular PC later today. The S2 is a low noise camera, but at 400 ISO or higher, there would be benefit in using noise reduction. I often use 400 ISO, so that is where Neat will come in - plus grain reduc...

Finally going to buy this software

Been using the beta for ages, so I guess it is about time.

Question: with all the hoopla surrounding noise in Kodak 14n images, has anyone tried Neat Image on one of those? Might save the day for that camera. Could generate a few sales too.

Is there a Fuji S2 profile?
