Re: vhs restoration

You'll need a tbc for this. Look for some high end VCR that has tbc built in, or some digital mixers that were made back in the late 90s, they have tbc too.

Re: Any plans for using Machine Learning to enhance Neat Video?

Greetings, I use Neat Video on an M1 MacBook Pro running DaVinci Resolve. Do you have any plans on using Machine Learning in a future version? If so, when can we expect it? Thanks in advance for your reply. Regards, Rajnesh Machine learning denoising is not reliable for low resolution videos

Re: Drone video - is this flick, jitter or something else?

The only thing you can do now is frame interpolation. You can do it either at playback with some frame interpolation software, or reencode the video with frame interpolation to higher frame rate.

Re: Drone video - is this flick, jitter or something else?

The frame rate of your videos are too low, that's why the stutter in motion. You should be shooting at least 60 fps.

Re: Neat Video always using 32-bit depth

Working in 32 bit will gives the best quality, all good filters do this. They take in an input clip, convert and process it in 32 bit, and then convert the result back to your original bit depth when outputting it back to you.

Re: Applying denoise on dark area only?

One possible way to achieve more smooth results would be to smooth out the mask you apply to the denoised layer in PS. That is perhaps the easiest way. Another option would be to manipulate the graphs in the noise equalizer of Neat Image (in the Device Noise Profile tab) to manually turn down the g...

Applying denoise on dark area only?

I have scans of color prints and after descreen, a lot of paper texture noises were revealed. Those noises are only visible in darker area of the image so I'm looking for a way to remove them with Neat Image. How do I apply my denoise only on the dark area? Right now I'm doing: duplicate the base la...

Re: AI denoise

The limit has been reached with how many original details you can keep. Nobody cares anymore about mathematical purity but quality. You will need to actually try out Topaz’s Denoise AI to understand the hit or miss that I’m talking about. It’s not mathematical differences, that software will create...

Re: AI denoise

I don't think AI and denoise can really go together. When denoising you want to keep as much detail as possible. But with AI, its core concept is to create more details, that is removing original details and replaces them with new, it's going to be a hit or a miss. Consider an image with 100 spots w...

Re: Adding preview windows for very low and ultra low frequency and increase their adjustable amount over +150?

Out of curiosity, I did a side by side comparison on the effect of denoising in rgb vs grayscale. I make the noise profiles both from sampling the curve line on the right of the image and then use the same noise filter setting from your zip. Then turned down the brightness of the preview window to t...

Re: Adding preview windows for very low and ultra low frequency and increase their adjustable amount over +150?

Hi your test profiles worked when running under RGB mode, with no soft bleed through left over. So is it the grayscale mode that I was using the cause of the problem? If I'm to have my final output as grayscale, I should first run Neat Image->convert to grayscale instead of convert to grayscale->Nea...

Re: Adding preview windows for very low and ultra low frequency and increase their adjustable amount over +150?

Hi I tried building the auto profile using the the bleed through area, but it still doesn't covers it in the result. Here's a sample image . Look at the soft curve line on the right. I changed the image to grayscale in photoshop and feed it to Neat Image. In setting I maxed luminance noise reduction...

Adding preview windows for very low and ultra low frequency and increase their adjustable amount over +150?

I have found that the very low and ultra low frequency denoising very effective on cleaning out bleed through problem from scan, where things from the back of the page bleed to the front. I would like to request the addition of preview windows for these two domains. Also the adjustable amount of +15...

Removing only color noise and dust?

I am scanning a color book and after I removed the screen, what's left over was a lot of color noise. What I want to do is remove only these color noise while retaining the paper texture, and then also remove the dust from the image. What I did was I picked a spot in the image and created a noise pr...
