There may be different encodings of profiles that are differently saved. Yes, it can read LZW- and ZIP-compressed TIFFs. Vlad Hi Vlad That's nice, maybe you could give those compression options on write? I've even seen a image editor that had the possibility to restrict it to a lower nr of bits (ak...

It is in principle possible that some ICC profiles are not saved/recognized when you open a TIFF and save a JPEG. This is partially described in the user guide, in this section , paragraph Preserve image metadata in output image files . To avoid the problem, I recommend (when working with TIFF inpu...

5.8 pro+ : some problems with embedded icc profiles

Hi I have a strange problem when using Neat Image : I feed Neat Image a batch of 16bit tif images and ask jpeg output, with the noise reduction dependent on the ISO value. If I do that with sRGB embedded, all goes fine. If I embed a "adobe RGB like" icc profile, it's erratic. Some applicat...

Hi Vlad You probably did not adjust the Preset Matching options. Please check menu Tools | Options | Matching | Preset Matching, make sure "Look for preset in folder of used profile" is enabled. Also, in Tools | Options | Defaults | Default Filter Preset, "Auto match preset" shou...

Hi

Is there a simple way to save the filter preset with the name of the noise profile? I can save them one at a time and rename, but that's quite some work.

I'm now using two camera's (P&S and DSLR) and the noise is quite different.

Vlad Alain, Thank you for the suggestion. Since this is a suggestion, I will move this topic to the Suggestions branch. Regarding profile quality in auto preview I think this could be added, though seeing that you build several profiles for "more or less the same condition" I would recomme...

profile quality suggestion

Hi Maybe a small suggestion: The current way I use to find out the quality of a newly made profiles can maybe made a little bit easier... (Maybe there's a way which I don't know.) I open a random photo and then open a directory with the new profiles (used batch profiler to make those new ones), but ...

You probably build a profile set (you say "to make more profiles", "more profiles are added", so I have to assume you are talking about building a profile set). In this case, I recommend to start with this section of the user guide. It explains which camera parameters should be ...

Hi Vlad There is no relation, that's why there are two indicators. One shows the quality of the profile itself, irrespective of the input image. Another one shows how closely this specific profile matches the input image (bases on the image and profile's metadata). Ok I recommend to strive for both ...
