Ah ha! That was it. Thanks! I wish these features were a bit more intuitive or that the warning box gave you the option to turn off that checkbox so you wouldn't have to go hunting for it.

Yes I've restarted it many times (using plug-in in CS2 and opening multiple files) and no matching rules.

I unchecked both boxes (Look for preset...., follow preset matching...) and I still get the error every time.

I fiddled with the focus and lighting and now get 93% profile quality. In the profile viewer the uniformity for all channels is 100%, fine tuning is 85%. Overall profile noise level is 6.38. Is this the best I can hope for?

I am trying to get a super high quality device profile for my Canon 5D. So far I've been able to get 86% as my top score. Now I'm not sure if it makes any difference, but I'm not sure HOW out-of-focus I could get the calibration image. Should it be just sligtly fuzzy, or should it be widly out of fo...

"The Photoshop CS2 Book for digital photographers" by Scott Kelby is OUTSTANDING! If you don't mind his humor (and I don't), any digital photographer shouldn't be without this book. It doesn't teach CS2 per say, but shows you how to use CS2 features to enhance/fix your digital photos.

Automatic Profile Selection - resolved

I'm using NI 5.25 Pro+ with CS2 and my Canon 5D. I created noise profiles for RAW files for all ISOs (which were actually posted on here). NI recognizes the profiles (lists them in the device noise pull down). However, when I select 'Auto Match Profile' I get an error saying "Neat Image cannot ...
