Re: Macbook Pro 2018 2.9 560X vs EGPU Vega 64
Thanks for the info. There's a good option for purchasing a Vega 64 at £399 at the moment so it felt like an opportune moment. I would rule out the 1080 Ti as I'd want improvement across the board in FCPX and not just for Neatvideo. Things like stabilisation, adding effects etc and export would all ...

Macbook Pro 2018 2.9 560X vs EGPU Vega 64
I'm considering purchasing a Vega 64 and Razer Core enclosure to help speed up FCPX and Neatvideo, and wanted a view on ROI. Running Neatbench on my machine elicits the following: Detecting the best combination of performance settings: running the test data set on up to 12 CPU cores and on up to 1 G...

Re: Ultimate Neat Video Machine?
I'm sure others will have views however I would have the following points: Dual GPU's with 8GB VRAM 8 Core CPU - I'm not sure if going above this figure has much benefit, due to memory bandwidth contention Fast IO for accessing/sharing - 10 Gig Ethernet perhaps The AMD Ryzen seems to be the most per...

Re: Neat Bench Results
Neat Bench results from a 2018 MacBook Pro, 2.9GHz i9. Am doing FCP export tests to see whether sustained Neat video work follows the improvement below. For NeatBench, a 48% improvement over 2017 MacBook Pro with 2.8 GHz i7 and Radeon Pro 555X (previous post) Neat Bench (Neat Image 8.4.0, Neat Video...

Re: What aspect of Neat Video should be improved most?
Would defnitely support valleo 's suggestion of simpler addition of NV to a clip, to make it seem more like part of FCPX than a separate product. My main suggestion would be consideration on some supported configurations for eGPU usage, and how NV handles multiple GPU's (internal and external). Ther...

Re: Neat Bench Results
Those iMac Pro results are still pretty impressive. For comparison here is the results from my MacBook Pro 2017, i7 2.8 GHz. Thank You
That's excellent news - I presently get just under 6 fps (GPU makes negligible difference) so this could be nearly 3 times as fast just by using GPU's alone.
Were there any CPU+GPU figures available on the Mac Pro's you've used?
Thanks,
David.

Performance on nMP?
Wondering if anyone has any experience / performance figures from the new Mac Pro yet? I'm doing noise reduction on a large number of clips on my Ivy Bridge Macbook Pro - performance is ok, the GPU is no help at all though. In the future I will consider an nMP and it appears the D300/500/700 can be ...
