I thought that might be the case. I have never used vDub in linux, but have layed in windows and have to say I find avidemux a better solution. Have you thought about a version of neat for avidemux? It is a nice cross platform editor/encoder. Broadly similar to vDub in scope of work, but more flexib...

I see the neatvideo.com front page says "Runs in Wine in Linux". How is this acheived? Do you have to run one of the supported editors "Adobe Premiere Pro / Elements, After Effects, VirtualDub and Sony Vegas / Movie Studio" in wine and run neat inside that? Or is there some other...
