Neat Video & Handbrake

Hi, I've recently began experimenting with x264 encodes using Handbrake on a Windows PC and was wondering if there's any way to use Neat Video plug in within Handbrake or via AVISynth?

Or someone clever should create a plugin wrapper that can take most avisynth/vdub plugins and get the GPU to do calculations. :P

Any Benchmarks Using i7 Yet?

I would like to know what speed improvements are to be had if I get the cheapest 920 i7 nehalem cpu (~$600) over say a Core 2 Duo E8400 (~$300).

Looking to upgrade my PC and upgrading to E8400 is pretty cheap but if i7 is 10x faster then I may as well get that.

Imo, you really should make an effort to get Boot Camp working on your iMac or something like VMWare Fusion, as it will be worth it. It'd be worth even paying a technician to do it for you, although you really should just find a local Mac aficionado and offer them a beer and a pizza to get it workin...

Hey NV, I didn't want to start another thread for my question. What is optimum RAM requirements for processing 720x576 video? I'm running on an iMac, sometimes under Virtualization, since I need to run software on both Mac and PC platforms. Right now I've got 1GB RAM assigned to my Windows. Is that ...

Sweet then. Earlier I said that my processed video was too sharp and had to redo. I now have discovered it's nothing to do with the plug-in but the Luminance Levels setting I chose in CCE. There is a setting for 0-255 or 16-235 for Luminance Levels. The default selection was 16-235 but I selected 0-...

VirtualDub rocks. It is rumored Steve Jobs moved to Intel CPUs just so he can run Windows and VirtuualDub on his iMac.

Just a rumor mind you. And started by me!

Would be good to do noise profiling on audio as well and clean the soundtrack at the same time as processing video. Do you get much requests for that? I know there are already sound tools out there like Sound Soap that specialize in audio restoration but it's a separate process and therefore more ma...
