I have no information about support for smart filters yet. Any news on this? I've been dying to be able to use Neat Image as a Smart Filter. I haven't looked at any of the new Photoshop CS3 SDK material yet, but I did find this little tidbit on this John Nack blog post : On a related note, develope...

There will always be a difference, even with the Quality set to 100% for the JPEG output; that's just the way lossy compression works. Whether the difference is small enough to justify the savings in file size is something only you can decide. So how do you decide? Well, here's a handy trick that mi...

There is an advantage in terms of image quality, since JPEG is lossy while TIFF is lossless. How much of an advantage? It depends on the Quality setting that you have selected at the time that you save the filtered JPEG file. At the same time, there is a disadvantage in terms of file size. For photo...

I should have mentioned that my system is a true dual-processor machine (Athlon MP 2800+). I have to say that the speed improvements you have been able to achieve with each new version of Neat Image are simply staggering, and immensely appreciated. My investment in Neat Image just keeps on giving. I...

I am still hoping for SMP/HT support while processing a single image. I'm not sure how difficult this would be, since it depends on the architecture of the application. I'm hoping that the implementation can be done relatively simply. It might even be as simple as dividing the image in half and proc...

I would also find it very useful to be able to resize a selection by dragging on the selection border. This is especially important during manual profiling, since fine adjustments often have to be made to the selection in order to obtain a suitably flat area. It's tedious to have to reselect the ent...

Thank you for your very prompt and informative response. I do realize that the before-and-after comparison is still available in the Component Viewer, and for that I am thankful. However, as to your opinion that this feature is more useful than the filtration masks, I must respectfully disagree. My ...

Neat Image 4.0: Filtration masks missing in Component Viewer
After spending a few minutes playing around with Neat Image 4.0, I must both congratulate and thank ABSoft for the remarkable improvement in speed that I've observed. On one test image I tried, processing time went from 125 seconds in Neat Image 3.17 all the way down to 55 seconds in 4.0; that's 227...
