Re: Neat Video 4.7

Hello Herbie,

It is usually sufficient to close AE and then install the new version (such as 4.7) over the older one (such as 4.6).

Please make sure you install the Pro plug-in (not Demo plug-in).

Thank you,
Vlad

Re: Support higher bit depth in VirtualDub plugin.

Thank you for sending the clip. It generally works but it looks like FILTERPARAM_NORMALIZE16 doesn't make any difference with this clip.

We are testing RGB64 and do not plan any other formats at this point.

Re: Support higher bit depth in VirtualDub plugin.

We studied the new documentation and saw how CrossFade and Levels currently work with 16-bit data. We also set FILTERPARAM_NORMALIZE16 in our test builds, because we need full-range 16 bit input. At this point in our testing process, we need some actual video samples that require such processing. We...

Re: Support higher bit depth in VirtualDub plugin.

We have been testing 16-bit support in VD2 and we would like to ask you send us (support [at] neatvideo.com) some sample clips where 16-bit support makes a difference. That can help us to add support for 16-bit data in VD2 as well.

Thank you,
Vlad

Re: Neat Bench Results

Hello Erich, The GPU drivers of these new models of GPUs coming with new iMacs are not very efficient as compared with the Windows versions of the drivers for the same GPUs. The same GPUs show better results in Windows according to our observations so far. We hope that the Mac versions of the driver...

Re: NeatVideo 4.7 + Vegas 15 build 311 = prev/next frames N/A

Our tests show that Vegas works correctly in render. The problem is only present when setting up the profile/filter settings.

Vegas developers received our report but have not yet considered it. I hope they will do that soon.

Thank you,
Vlad

Re: Render speed options

According to the optimization results, the best combination is CPU (11 cores) and GPU (Quadro K2200). Please accept the results of optimization. Please also check if the speed of render changes when you use a different clip format. Premiere may work slower with some video clip formats than with othe...

This more and more looks like a bug in Vegas 14/15. Please do report it to Magix. We will report it too.

Thank you,

Re: NeatVideo 4.7 + Vegas 15 build 311 = prev/next frames N/A

We have been able to reproduce this issue on our computers in new versions of Vegas. It is not yet clear what exactly is causing the problem but it is possible that it originates somewhere on the side of Vegas itself. We are looking into this and will update this thread when we know more. Kind regar...

Yes, that is a known feature of Task Manager.

It may be useful to monitor the GPU load using something more specialized like MSI Afterburner.

Re: Speed Test would be optimized for timeline scrubbing not rendering H.264?

Thank you for your question and test results. This depends on the nature of all operations done during rendering/exporting. The whole render/export process involves noise reduction, encoding the final video, decoding of original video, applying any other effects used in the project. Each of these op...

Re: VR- Noise reduction

Hi Jan, Pre-denoising the original rectangular shots before stitching seems to be the most natural solution. Anything done at later stages in a workflow would likely have to deal with modified noise, which in many cases can make accurate noise reduction more difficult. I recommend to look into direc...

Re: Neat Video with PowerDirector 16

Directly in PowerDirector -- no. Indirectly, for example by using VirtualDub and Neat Video plug-in for VirtualDub, -- yes. VirtualDub could be used together with Neat Video plug-in to pre-denoise original clips before you then edit the new clean versions of those clips in PowerDirector. Thank you, ...

Re: Network Installation

A non-standard server-client installation scheme may require non-standard additions and generally speaking may not always work well. Having said that, please note that on Linux Neat Video is normally installed to: /usr/local/Neat Video v4 OFX/ and also to the system-wide OFX folder: /usr/OFX/Plugins...
