There is a brightness adjustment slider below the viewer. It controls the viewer and the way it displays the video data. It does not change the video itself, only the way it is displayed. Is that what you are looking for?

Not yet. This is still in the works. It takes time because of the changes in the recent versions of FCPX that require a significant redesign of the plug-in itself besides just adding support for M1.

Please see this article and pay special attention to the concept of efficiency. It is very much likely that the speed difference is caused by reduced efficiency of the host application, possibly due to the codecs used. Try to vary those.

Please verify that you build the noise profile using full-resolution frames: check the frame size inside Neat Video window. It must be the full resolution of the clip.
