You're rendering out uncompressed video?
Consider using an intermediate format like Cineform (lagarith or huffyuv if you want to stay uncompressed)... sure eases space requirements on filter runs :)

a nehalem is way more than a "reworked" c2q. the integrated memory controller alone is worth getting one. frankly, i'd recommend you to read up some CPU architecture analysis on anandtech or xbitlabs, instead of believing those friends :)

i don't know about neat, but the gpu world is about to make a leap soon, with the release of nvidia's fermi : http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2009/9/30/nvidia-gt300s-fermi-architecture-unveiled-512-cores2c-up-to-6gb-gddr5.aspx The huge thing imho is not the speed, but the possibility to directl...

I agree with Vlad here, really does look like a cooling problem. Maybe the cooler is not tough enough, maybe thermal paste was wrongfully applied to the processor. Another take at it: do you overclock? do you underclock or minimise voltage? The symptoms you are seeing are quite common among us overc...

Why not FCP then? one of the reasons i wanted to return to windows (where i feel definately more at ease too/upgrading hardware is easy), is that Deshaker in VDub offers removal of Rolling Shutter, which i deem a big plus for my 5D takes. Naturally that has nothing to do with Neatvideo, but i am in...

VirtualDub batch questions

Hi all, First of all, i'm a very happy Neatvideo Pro user in Final Cut. I have lately decided however to switch from Mac to PC Video Editing, reasons being among other Cineform/CS*, Deshaker in VirtualDub, and random forms of lazyness. Before asking for changing the neatvideo license, i wanted to as...

derac, it looks like you want to denoise and then directly encode to xvid. Denoising is very processor intense, and so is xvid encode. I'd recommend rendering the denoised video first to a digital intermediate (Huffyuv, Lagarith or uncompressed), and use that to encode the Xvid. That way, you can do...
