Re: Neat Image Plug-in Demo not visible

M1 is not yet supported by the plug-in. We currently work to add that support. In the meantime, it may be possible to make the current version of the plug-in work on M1 if you run Photoshop in Rosetta mode. To do that please close Photoshop, then select the icon of Photoshop, then go to menu File > ...

We are working on that and try to complete that work as soon as possible.

We will post an update here when the updated version is available.

Re: Remove Scanner Banding Artifact

I did that with Neat Image and it was relatively easy.

Of course you would need to learn how to use Neat Image for that.
There are several guides on the website that can help with that.

Re: Applying denoise on dark area only?

One possible way to achieve more smooth results would be to smooth out the mask you apply to the denoised layer in PS. That is perhaps the easiest way. Another option would be to manipulate the graphs in the noise equalizer of Neat Image (in the Device Noise Profile tab) to manually turn down the gr...

Re: Adding preview windows for very low and ultra low frequency and increase their adjustable amount over +150?

Perhaps a bit better in RGB but still quite noticeable.

It is not really noise after all, so it is not reduced just as well as the regular random noise.
As far as I can tell, tweaking the filter further will likely not give better results.

Re: Adding preview windows for very low and ultra low frequency and increase their adjustable amount over +150?

Probably that is not related to the RGB vs grayscale. I guess. Perhaps this is more about the profile and filter settings that I used. Notice that I increased the noise level in the filter settings. Also, I built the profile using a large area that included those bleeding lines. I think these two th...

Please try these profile/preset to see if you get the same results with these as with your profile and filter settings.

Thank you,

Re: Device profile quality - around what level should it typically be when doing things right and using a high-end monit

It is normal I believe. Neat Image may be detecting some traces of compression artifacts that generally look more like details than like noise, which decreases the uniformity. That is no problem for profiling though and there is no need to strive for 100% just for the sake of a higher number. The mo...

Re: Adding preview windows for very low and ultra low frequency and increase their adjustable amount over +150?

Thank you for the suggestion regarding previews. We will consider possible options. Regarding the adjustable noise levelif you need more it than +150%, then that may indicate that the noise profile is not accurate. It may be necessary to re-build the noise profile using a good sample of very low / u...

Re: Removing only color noise and dust?

I am afraid those functions can only work together. Please try to find some balance between noise reduction (in Luminance) and artifact removal. Perhaps reducing the Noise Level setting may help to better preserve the texture while still removing dust.

Hope this helps,

Re: General profile questions

No, the test shot is fine, there is enough blur. The quality indication is indeed higher with a manually selected area but I expect no difference in the visual quality results with either of the profiles. The quality seems to be reduced for the central area because there are some compression artifac...
