I was going to ask a similar question.

Not clear to me from the discussion - what does the position on the vertical axis indicate?

I.e. what does +100% mean as opposed to -100%?

The only way I could see to improve that, since you have to open the filters tab in Vdub, and then select NV, would be to just get rid of that initial dialogue box, and put everything into a tabbed main window that opens from the filter selection box. Having it remember the last tab you had opened ...

A couple of suggestions to make using NV less cumbersome

I've been playing with NV for a few days within Virtualdub. A couple of observations. There's a big disparity between what the preview shows and what the effect on the video actually ends up being. I find that the effect on the video is actually more pronounced than what the preview window shows. I ...

Thanks for the input. Why do you feel pillarboxing - i.e. making the black boxes on the sides part of the image - reduces horizontal resolution if the 4:3 portion of the image remains the same size?

Workflow order recommendations - NV, deinterlacing, resizing

Looking to apply NV to various VHS captures to DV avi, eventually to convert to pillarboxed DVD and/or pillarboxed 720p Blu-Ray. I'll be deinterlacing/cropping with the avisynth script QTGMC. Will there be any difference between applying NV to the raw interlaced captured footage or applying NV after...

Okay, well that answers that - lol. It looked like it was an available option.

Any reason to get V2 instead of V3?

I see there is a V2 and a V3 available for purchase. If V3 is the most recent version, what reason would there be to get V2?

Re: Insufficient memory issue using NV within Virtualdub

Hi Barney, where would I find these settings? So far looking under preferences I don't see this. Thanks. Under options/preferences you have disk I/O; choose unbuffered asynchronous. Options/performance has the buffer settings. Sounds like you haven't increased them from default. They're currently a...

What is the configuration of VDub ? Input/ouput color depth, "Option->Preference" configuration (specialy threading/3D). You filter chain, codec output. Configuration of NV (radius, number of processor used, GPU used ?) Personnaly, i've always used latest version (actualy i'm using latest...

Re: Insufficient memory issue using NV within Virtualdub

FWIW, the first thing I'd check is the size and number of buffers you're using in Virtualdub. Easy check, write down what you have set now, reduce everything to minimum, and see if you still crash. If no change, set them back to what you wrote down. And don't use buffered disk i/o in Virtualdub. Hi...

Specs of systems that have no problems with NV?

Anyone use NV successfully and have no problems?

What codec is the source video, what are you saving to, what app are you using it within, what are your O/S and hardware specifics?

What's the longest video you've processed with it?

Thanks

I'll ask stupid questions : - Are you sure it's a memory issue ? (Look at it in Windows Task Manager) I can't say for sure - I'm reporting what the error message is. - Your hhd is not full ? - You're not trying to write a file of more than 4GB on FAT32 ? Lots of room on the drives, NTFS drives. Nor...

I cannot exclude some indirect influence of NV (it uses memory for sure) but that message is certainly not coming from NV itself. Vlad Since it's being processed within Virtualdub, would you expect it to come "from" Neatvideo or rather because of it? I've never seen this error with any ot...

Thank you,

Get the same result.

How do you know it isn't an error due to NV?
