Re: Insufficient memory issue using NV within Virtualdub

Hi Barney, where would I find these settings? So far looking under preferences I don't see this. Thanks. Under options/preferences you have disk I/O; choose unbuffered asynchronous. Options/performance has the buffer settings. Sounds like you haven't increased them from default. I won't bother you ...

Re: Insufficient memory issue using NV within Virtualdub

I've been trying out the NV demo version processing a 3 minute DV avi segment via Virtualdub. The file that's being processed has been deinterlaced through Avisynth using QTGMC and is 59.94 progressive. It gets about a minute into the processing and I get an insufficient memory message. Doesn't mat...

Normally, the window position is saved. Something is not working correctly if it moves like that. To avoid that please try to open that window while keeping the Ctrl key pressed on the keyboard. Thank you, Vlad Vlad, Thanks for that, it does open the window centered on the screen. Just to doubleche...

Do you mean the original problem is the fact the window moves upwards when you open it several times? And the unintended switching of the scan type is just a consequence of that original window problem, is that correct? Vlad Exactly. The window position is not saved, and seems to drift upward a bit...

Video scan type

Please consider adding a confirmation dialog when changing "Video scan type" at the top of the initial Neat Video configuration window (32-bit Pro plug-in for Virtualdub). And/or limit the selection area to only the specific radio button rather than the areas "o Progressive " and...

can't save preference

In version 3.4 for Virtualdub I can't save the "normal brightness" preference. It always reverts to the default "reduced brightness" preference the next time Neatvideo is opened. The other preferences on the same tab don't seem to present a problem. Win7 Pro x64, 32-bit Virtualdu...

Vlad, I guarantee you it's a user, not hardware, issue. I feel like I should be comfortable moving my hand (and mouse) wherever I like and the scroll wheel should still be controlling the item I last selected, and if I choose to select another item, I'll need to click on it. It's what I consider the...

Right, up to a point. I seem to have lost the highlighting of the controls with the new "reduced brightness" option. In the normal view, now I can see what's selected, and when it changes. I actually don't change focus by simply hovering over a different control. It changes when the scroll...

Vlad, I knew that was too easy. I had forgotten that I'd learned early on to never use the mouse wheel when making adjustments to Neatvideo noise filter settings. The problem is with keeping focus. First of all, I can click on any control in that window, but I never get any visual feedback showing w...

Thanks, Vlad. Using the mouse wheel on the controls means I can keep my eye on the preview while making adjustments. That's definitely the way to go.

sharpening adjustment

I think a slight tweak to the sharpening adjustment that would be useful would be to add a checkbox at each of the H-M-L sliders to enable locking/unlocking the controls to one another, i.e., making any adjustment to a checked control makes the same adjustment to any other checked control. Clearing ...

temporal filter preview in Virtualdub plugin

I'd like to be able to toggle on and off adding in the effect of the temporal filtering in the Neatvideo plugin preview window (for Virtualdub). As it is now, only the effect of the intraframe filtering is shown in the Neatvideo plugin preview window (as it should be); but having to close the plugin...

smooth edges

I'd like to see some adjustment controls for the "smooth edges" filter beyond the enable/disable checkbox currently provided. Something along the lines of the sharpening filter controls if possible.
