Nikon D800 profiles

Post by JimmyCat »

I note that there a 3 profiles available for download for the Nikon D800, 2 of which are labelled RAW and 1 which is labelled JPEG so I am assuming they are only suitable for use on those file types.. As I export my images from Lightroom in TIFF format I am wondering whether they would be suitable for my use.

Sorry about late reply. The answer to your question depends on the original format of those images, before they came to Lightroom. If they were JPEGs, then using the JPEG profiles would be most suitable. If they were RAW and the RAW conversion you used does match the description of the RAW conversion used to build those RAW profiles, then using the matching set of RAW profiles would be suitable. If the RAW converter you used was different, then it is better to build your own profiles for your workflow.
