Network Installation

Hi all,

We're trying to find a solution to installing Neat Video so that it runs off a mounted disk.
The way we are set up is that we have a master machine which has the current Nuke build in /usr/local/Nuke (it's a Centos installation)
All other machines have a mounted /usr/local/Nuke pointing to the master, where the Nuke executable and plugins all reside, so that when launching Nuke it's actually being loaded directly from the master. We do this avoid going round all machines and having to make dozens of installations - we just need to install once on the master.
Normally we install all plugins in that location too, but it looks like Neat Video isn't happy about that, and the plugin doesn't get loaded at launch time.

Does anyone have an idea or any tips to get this working?

Thanks in advance!

A non-standard server-client installation scheme may require non-standard additions and generally speaking may not always work well.
Having said that, please note that on Linux Neat Video is normally installed to:
/usr/local/Neat Video v4 OFX/
and also to the system-wide OFX folder:
/usr/OFX/Plugins/

So you may need to map those folders too to make the plug-in equally visible on user machines.

Please make sure you have the right Neat Video license to cover those machines (a single-user license covers only one machine).

Thank you,
Vlad

Hi Vlad,

Thanks for your response.
It looks like it's a lot of hassle considering it will only be run on one of our machines, it's just that I'm not sure if the fact the machine runs Nuke off a mounted directory means it won't be able to run Neatvideo properly, which would force me to have a separate machine with its own local Nuke installation, which I prefer to avoid, of course.
On the subject of licensing, you really need to be able to offer floating licenses - all our other software and plugins work with floating licenses and it's much easier for us.

Thanks again,
