Which version to buy...

Hi,

we're using the Master Collection CS3 on Windows and we're about to buy Neat Video.

Is there any difference between the Premiere version and the After Effects version ?

I would love to implement the Noise reduction into the workflow of Premiere - so we don't have to render out from AE for every little clip we use...

But will only do that if the Premiere output is the same as After Effects...

Also, should the noise reduction (via NV) come after the color correction or before ?

Thanx for your help !!

Then I recommend the version for Premiere. The filtration results of both AE and Premiere versions are the same.

I recommend to do noise reduction as the very first step in your post-processing to avoid aggravation/modification of noise by any other post-processing operation, which may make noise reduction more complicated.

Kind regards,
Vlad

Vlad, thanx for your answer.

So if I a project in AE with 16bpc I would get the same results as rendering in Premiere ?

Also, regarding your statement that noise reduction should be applied first - I read somewhere that someone should do color correction first, so that the noise reduction in the color channels actually happens with the right color data...

Don't know if that's true, though... ;)

This may depend on Premiere version (some Premiere versions support 16-bit data, some 32-bit) but in principle it should be as good as in AE.

Regarding noise reduction in a workflow, I do recommend to do it first. There are several quite technical reasons (that have to do, for example, with the way Premiere works, really technical stuff) for that. It is better to do it first.
