New video card

I had a nvidia GTX 580 Ti card in the past with core I7 980x CPU. Now i have updated this videocard with a GTX 780 Ti.

I founded it strange that my rendering speed is still the same.

What can be the cause of it ? I unstalled the firmware of the 580 card.

that's the problem, because nV change the design,
now it bias gaming performance, won't do any help around CUDA.

What is 580 Ti? Are you sure it is Ti?

780 Ti is quite fast in NV according to our tests:

Frame: 1920x1080 progressive, Radius: 1 frame
GPU only (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 17.2 frames/sec

For comparison:
GPU only (GeForce GTX 580): 10.3 frames/sec

Please post your Optimize log and we will compare the figures.

Thank you,
Vlad

sorry i did made a mistake. My old card was a gtx 560 Ti.

Here is what i have now.

Frame: 720x576 interlaced, Radius: 1 frame
Running the test data set on up to 12 CPU cores and on up to 1 GPU

CPU only (1 core): 7.94 frames/sec
CPU only (2 cores): 15.6 frames/sec
CPU only (3 cores): 21.3 frames/sec
CPU only (4 cores): 27 frames/sec
CPU only (5 cores): 29.4 frames/sec
CPU only (6 cores): 28.6 frames/sec
CPU only (7 cores): 27 frames/sec
CPU only (8 cores): 25.6 frames/sec
CPU only (9 cores): 25 frames/sec
CPU only (10 cores): 22.2 frames/sec
CPU only (11 cores): 21.7 frames/sec
CPU only (12 cores): 20 frames/sec
GPU only (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 34.5 frames/sec
CPU (1 core) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 31.3 frames/sec
CPU (2 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 24.4 frames/sec
CPU (3 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 31.3 frames/sec
CPU (4 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 32.3 frames/sec
CPU (5 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 40 frames/sec
CPU (6 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 38.5 frames/sec
CPU (7 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 38.5 frames/sec
CPU (8 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 37 frames/sec
CPU (9 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 37 frames/sec
CPU (10 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 37 frames/sec
CPU (11 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 37 frames/sec
CPU (12 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti): 35.7 frames/sec

Best combination: CPU (5 cores) and GPU (GeForce GTX 780 Ti)

When i use my 560 Ti i also have 40 frames/sec when it used cpu 5 cores and cpu.

It is not in HD. I bought a new card because i still had to do 600 tapes now.

GPU power is used most efficiently when frames are large. When frames are small (like 720x576 or actually 720x288 since it is an interlaced video stream), a lot of efficiency is lost because too much time is spent on overhead start/stop activities as well as transferring small frames to the GPU and back. The GPU is fast but supplying it with data is still the same slow as before, so the difference in GPU speed does not matter anymore since the bottleneck is elsewhere (probably in data transfer and start/stop processes).

To check whether 780 Ti itself works with adequate speed please run the same Optimize test with the same parameters as I quoted above:
Frame: 1920x1080 progressive, Radius: 1 frame

Thank you,
Vlad

can my result been better when i use an other CPU with other ram memory ? I was thinking about the core I7 4930K cpu ?

Newer CPUs are certainly better than older ones.

Even a previous-generation CPU - i7 3930K @ 4000 Mhz with DDR3-2133 RAM makes 10.3 frames/sec in the above test (1920x1080p, radius 1).
i7 4930K would be about the same fast or perhaps a bit faster.

Don't forget to re do he optimization in the preferences as this always helps.
