Temporal filter pixel shift

Post by pranavsg07 »

Hi,
When using temporal filter with any value, there's a noticeable pixel shift / warping in some parts of the footage. It goes back to normal when temporal filter is turned off but the noise reduction takes a hit. Is there any specific reason as to why this is happening and any possible solution? I have noticed this issue on multiple shots. It mainly affects areas with some texture like grass, rocks, creases on cloth, facial features etc
Using version 4.5.5 through Nuke.

Please kindly prepare a small test project allowing to reproduce the problem and send it to support for analysis. Once we reproduce and see it directly, we will try to determine the cause.

Thank you.

I have asked our support team to get in touch . In the meantime, I was trying some solutions and one thing I noticed is that if I use framehold just before the neat video node with the temporal filter setting kept on, there is no warping. Even though there are no consecutive frames to process from, the output looks better than when the filter was kept off.
