Best options to speed up processing 4K?

I’ve been working on more 4K projects lately and it’s a shame there are no benchmarks for this. My system can handle 4K with no problem but I am in need of speeding things up especially if noise reduction is needed.

My system specs is as follows:

CPU: Intel i7-8700k
MOBO: Gigabyte Designare Z390 (with Thunderbolt 3)
GPU: XFX AMD RX 580 8GB
RAM: 32GB DDR4
OS: Windows 10 Pro and macOS Mojave v.10.14.1.

Here’s the results I get when I perform the optimization test on Neat Video 4.8.5.

What would be the best option to speed up Neat Video processing?

1. Upgrade CPU to an 8-core i7-9700k or i9-9900k
2. Upgrade GPU to an AMD Vega 64 (need to stay with AMD GPU for easier Hackintosh build)
3. eGPU route with AMD Vega 64

Will I see much of a difference?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

If you want to stay with AMD, then RX Vega 64 or R9 Fury might be an option, especially in Windows where GPU drivers work at full speed. Please see this blog post for some figures. Those are for fullHD but the relative differences in speed should be similar for 4k as well.

I would consider switching the quality modes to Normal in both temporal and spatial. The speed would appreciably increase.
