Neat Video & Neat Image community

I have a Sony digital camcorder and I would like to know if it is okay to use Neat Video to smooth out some very fine grain in the background, or should I leave the video as is.

I think it should be okay to reduce any objectionable noise that can be reduced. Is there any reason to not do that?
