YCrCb Symmetric

Greetings.

What is the "YCrCb Symmetric" colorspace? The user guide has recommendations about its use, but I couldn't find any definition of it. As an Indy-film maker who works a lot with color, I'd personally appreciate an actual definition, such as "Y is equal weight of R, B and G", so that I know more what is actually happening instead of having to wonder and guess.

Cheers,

Yes, your definition is correct, those weights are equal.

And what are Cr and Cb then? Y-R and Y-B, scaled by some constant factor?

Cheers,

Andrew,

Yes, they are Y-R and Y-B multiplied by a constant, you are right.

Hope this helps.
