Neat Video & Neat Image community

I would like to use NV in VirtualDub prior to working with my clips in a NLE, probably Vegas 6. Should I set VirtualDub to output the clip uncompressed or should I compress back using, for example, the Panasonic DV codec?

The reason I ask is if VirtualDub compresses back to DV, isn't my NLE going to repeat the uncompress and recompress cycle when applying effects and filters? I'm concerned about too many uncompress/recompress cycles.

I think it is better to not compress in VD if you have enough disk space to store uncompressed version of the video.
