Unable to register demo in vegas 8.0

I have followed the install instructions and when I try to register I receive the following error: The directx plug-in neatvideosv.dll failed to register properly (8002801 Ch)
Please help.

Did the installer work without errors? When did you get that error message?
Normally, the NeatVideo installer should automatically install the plug-in and make it available in Vegas. If that happens then it is not necessary to manually drag the plug-in to Vegas for registration. Have you checked whether the plug-in is already installed and available in Vegas? Perhaps it is already not necessary to install it manually by drag-dropping to Vegas.

Same Issue

Installer completed no errors
Run vegas but plugin not listed for neat video
dragged dll into vegas window and after clicking yes to register get the same error
I am using neat video demo downloaded today for vegas and also running vegas demo 9.0b(build 92)
Running on Vista 64 business
Also tried running sony vegas as admin but then would not allow me to drop the dll in at all. Only able to do that when launched normally.

Is it 32-bit or 64-bit version of Vegas?

Is Vista User Account Control (UAC) enabled or disabled on your machine?

disabled UAC
reboot
tried to drop dll.. same error
uninstalled NV
reboot
reinstall.. no errors
start vegas.. no NV listed
restart vegas.. no NV listed
drag in dll.. get same error after clicking yes

Are you 100% sure Neat Video is missing in the list of filters after the NV installer completes (just the installer itself, there is no need to manually drag the dll) and you restart Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0b build 92? Perhaps it is there, maybe you have just skipped it in the list?

I am new to vegas so maybe im missing something. Im testing both their product and yours as a possible solution to my needs.
I'll step through while I check again
1. Started Vegas
2. Go to audio track (front in this case) and click Track FX
3. Click Plugin Chain...
4. Click All
5. Look for neat video but dont see it. See tons of other stuff though including 3rd party items from Nero, Arcsoft, and so on.
Am I in the right window?
Looks like its all in alphabetic order. the item after Multi-Tap Delay is Nero Audio Decoder 2

Just got home from work and decided to figure this out again.
Reread the site and I thought I seen noise reduction feature for sound (removing hessing or static) somewhere but guess I must of read it since the second read around all state video noise or visible noise.
Sorry for waisting your time.. =(
Was hoping for audacity noise filtering like tool for video's audio

I see. Yes, it is a video plug-in. Sorry that we don't have an audio filter too. I hope you will find one anyway.
