10-bit yuv input for the Virtualdub plug-in

Post by barney »

I'd like to see Neatvideo request yuv input from Virtualdub for direct processing.

E.g., I can set Virtualdub to a decompression format of 4:2:2 YCbCr (UYVY) for processing by its internal levels filter, then save the same format output from the filter to an uncompressed file without conversion. If Virtualdub can send the same format to Neatvideo successfully, I'd prefer that to the current RGB input requirement, and RBG filter output, if Neatvideo processes in yuv anyway.

And if 10-bit data, whether it be yuv or RGB, can be passed to the filter by Virtualdub, I'd like to see the ability for the plug-in to work with that, too.

Kind of a repetition of a previous post, in the form of a request this time.

Unfortuntaly, the actual VDub API filter from last SDK (v1.2) support only 8 bit data formats. Even if it can input and ouput 10bits formats, it can't past them to the chain filters, even internal filters.
