Dear forum members,
We have been checking the latest M4 Apple Silicon machines from Apple and found something special. For the first time in history of measurements of CPU speeds based on NeatBench, the top place in the table has been taken not by an Intel or AMD processor but by an Apple CPU. This is something cool and at the same time unexpected.
Granted, we do not yet have measurements from the very latest Intel and AMD processors and perhaps they will again be able to topple Apple there, but it is nevertheless very interesting that there is more actual competition of CPUs at the top now.
You may want to check how your current system performs in this test and compare the CPU-only speed and the GPU-only speed reported by NeatBench with those results in the table.
Here is how you can run the NeatBench test:
1. Download NeatBench and unzip it to Desktop:
2. Start NeatBench5 from Desktop;
3. Once NeatBench5 finishes, find its log file: a file with the name starting with NeatBenchLog in your Home folder;
(you can also check the command line output, it contains the same data)
4. Check the CPU-only and GPU-only frame rates reported and compare those with the numbers in the table.
Please also post your whole NeatBenchLog log file here in the forum or send it by e-mail to support [at] neatvideo.com . We will include the best results in the table.
Kind regards,
