Working with Proxy media in FCPX

Post by friedom »

I've been working with actual media versus proxy but want to try it for my next project for speed benefits. My question is if I'm working with proxy media and apply Neatvideo for denoising, how does the plug-in handle when it's time for the final render/export of actual media? Should I go back and turn off proxy after final edits, and apply the plug-in on each necessary shot?

That is quite possible.

The goal would be following: to ensure that you build a noise profile and then adjust the settings of the noise filter using a full-size frame (or field) from the actual media. If you work with actual media all the way, that is almost always ensured without additional efforts. If you use proxy, you may need to ensure that manually.
