Force 8bit in Premiere CC2015

Post by simond83 »

Hi, so my video is 8bit YUV, but i know premiere works with A/V in 32bit. Within the plugin, i can change the settings from 32b to 8b, but this is in the optimised settings area. When i come out and back into the main plugin window, it's still reporting RGB 32bit.

Is there a way to work in 8bit when rendering to save time, so i'm not processing 32bits?

Thanks, Simon

There is no way to enforce 8-bit rendering in Premiere from the side of the plug-in. I am not sure you can do that using Premiere own settings either because modern versions of Premiere usually make their own decisions regarding the best bitdepth for rendering. Neat Video window is simply a messenger of Premiere in this situation.
