NeatImage gives an output file that is much smaller than input file. Example 2 Mb input jpeg; 500Kb output jpeg. Why size loss and is there a setting to maintan original size/compression? Thanks for your help.

Neat Image reduces noise, which constitutes a signigicant part of the original image file's volume. There is nothing strange that noise-free image is compressed better by JPEG; it is the property of the JPEG compression method.

Neat Image Home/Pro edition save images into completely lossless formats: TIFF and BMP. Moreover, it give you a possibility to adjust the level of JPEG compression to match your requirements.

Hope this helps.
