JPEG2000 format support

I mentioned this on the old BB a few weeks ago thinking that the adoption of JPEG2000 was still quite a bit in the future. However I read last week that Adobe has a RAW image & JPEG2000 plugin for $99 (too exp for JPEG2000 alone) available now and that the next version of PShop will support this format. I have also learned that JPEG2000 is supported by the latest versions of ACDsee, Thumbsplus, and of course Compupic.

There is in fact a free JPEG2000 PShop plugin which is free here:

So, there's no reason, at this point not to try JPEG200, except that NeatImage, at this point does not suport this format.

For those people who have not heard about JPEG2000, it's an improved version of JPEG that produces higher quality compression for the same file size as JPEG.

I for one would love to have support in NeatImage Home/Pro for this improved JPG format since compression quality and file size are very important considerations for me.

If any other users of NeatImage feel the same please voice your opinion.

Thanks

Dan
