After processing an image I checked the properties and it shows that the jpg went from 5mb to a whopping 14.5 mb! Does anyone know if this can be adjusted smaller or a tip for this?
Without knowing more information such as the image resolution, color depth, etc, its impossible to do more than take guesses... so I'll take a guess...
It's possible that NI is compressing with a much higher quality than the original image. This not only will result in a larger file, but any compression artifacts from the original compression will cause the higher quality compressed file to be even larger.
Again, this is merely a guess, as I never use JPG in my workflow with the single exception of thumbnails when archiving. For everything else I either use my camera's RAW format (CRW/THM in my case), Photoshop file format (PSD) or uncompressed TIFF (which I currently only use to get an image into NI, and back out of NI.)
