I know SMP support is coming at some point, but there's an incredibly easy step that can be taken right now. When using batch mode, why not let the queue controller run two images through two NIs at once? You can do this by hand (while batch runs in background), and it's spectacular for those of us with dual processor machines.
Given that I have an SMP machine, I'd rank this as even more desirable than Photoshop support, although I love that too. Admittedly a lot of people wouldn't use it, but more and more do, and for us it's a lifesaver.
