Plug in. Layer shrinks after filtration.

I was just looking at a sample picture from the new Dimage A1. It contained a small rectangle taken at iso 800, so I selected the rectangle, made the selection into a layer, and filtered it with NI.

The filtration result was very good, but the layer had shrunk about 2.5%, and now had a dark fringe, so it would not be possible to just merge it back into the main picture without some work. I would be glad to send you the file if you wish,

Is this something which ought to be fixed in NI?

I think I know what you are describing. The solution would be to filter just the selection, without creating a new layer using the selection. This is a kind of natural effect when only part of the image is separated into a new layer and then filtered. Just apply Neat Image filter to the selection in the original image.
