Compression level

I've noticed that jpeg images brought into NI from my Minolta A2 show the compression as "none" even though the jpeg was shot in the "fine" mode which creates a 4 mp image from an 8 mp chip!

Yes, we are aware of this small issue caused by the fact the camera doesn't specify the compression level using standard means. We will update the software soon to fix this.

Will this cover the A1 as well?

Most likely. Neat Image will not say "uncompressed" if the image is in fact compressed.

Would it be possible for NI use the compression level ("Quality") from the Maker Notes and use it to support Batch Profiling and Auto Matching?

Probably in the future because reading non-standard makernotes from different camera manufacturers is not easy to implement (they must follow standards after all).

In case you really use different compression levels right now, I advise to simply apply Auto Fine-Tuning for every image you process in batch. Or use Auto Profile. This will solve the problem completely.
