Noise Profile for Fuji 3800

Hi
I have a Fuji 3800 and was planning to build a noise profile using
a calibration target. The instructions ask to display the target on screen
and then take a picture while focused to infinity. When I do this, the
final image is very dark and am not sure if this would work.

Also, for me to get focussed at infinity, I focused on some distant
object (which also probably determined my shutter speed/apeture etc)
and hence I get a pretty dark image. Fuji 3800 doesn't have an ability
to manually set focus

Any thoughts on improving this will be appreciated. Also, if I can get
an existing noise profile, that would be a good starting point for me to
build a custom one.

Do you have macro mode in this camera? - Macro can also produce an out-of-focus image.

If not, lock focus on the same target displayed on the screen and then more the camera closer to the screen.
