Raw-files (DNG format)

Hello,

Adobe has anounced a new format (DNG) for raw files. The specification will be available for free, and Adobe is providing a converter for most digital cameras to DNG.

Could Neatimage gain from using the raw-data directly and writing back the results to a raw-image again.

Raw images contain only incomplete data (bayer-matrix) on the RGB-channels, maybe this will make it harder to "see" the noise (before the interpolation from the bayer matrix is carried out)?

Olaf

Well, if the specifications will be publicly available then it will be a good idea to try using such RAW files directly.

I will keep the eye open for the coming news about DNG. Thank you for letting us know.
