Banding on prints only

I'm very new to this - just started using the program today. So much makes absolutely no sense to me. In any case, I'm having a banding problem that only shows up once I print. Looks great on the monitor but the prints show banding. I've wasted soooooo much paper and ink on one stinkin' image now. Yes, I've got the dither box checked in my preferences in PS7. Any suggestions? Are there any settings in either neat image or PS7 that I need to be sure to do or not do?

Try to reduce high frequency noise reduction amount. See this page too.

You can also try to add some noise manually. I sometimes add monochrome noise to a picture as the last step after sharpening to give it a pleasing look. It is highly subjective of course. But in your case it might do what you need.
