Problems with rotated TIFF files

Post by Ian »

Hi,

I recently purchased the Pro+ edition of NI so that I could do large batch runs. I scanned a number of low res TIFF files with Vuescan and then using the Windows XP image viewer rotated those images that were the wrong way round.

"However now when I try and load the TIFF files that were rotated by Windows XP NI gives the following message:

Specified TIFF file has an incorrect bit depth.
(probable reason for this error is that an alpha layer is present in the image)

Neat Image supports images with 8/16/24/48 bits per pixel"

Is this supposed to happen? Photoshop Elements is able to open the images without problem, however if I then re-save the image from Photoshop, NI still can't open the image giving the same message.

That is not supposed to happen. I would appreaciate if you sent me a small crop from such a TIFF, I mean a version that does work well in NI and a version that doesn't. I will then try to find out what is wrong with the image or NI. It may be a bug or it may be a corruption in the TIFF metadata.

Thank you,
Vlad
