manual profiling: minimum selection button

Post by Leo »

A small thing, but it would be nice to have a button or menu item that would generate a minimum selection box for using in manual rough profiling. Currently I start the auto-profiler and then stop it in order to get a ready-made, moveable 128x128 selection.

Do you mean you need specifically a 128x128 selection? Or the minimum size selection (it would be smaller than 128x128)? Or just a selection of any size? Is a selection drawn by hand not useable for your purposes?

Almost always, a selection drawn by hand works perfectly.

In a few cases, an exact 128x128 selection is desirable, when I am really scrounging for just one optimally useable featureless area, and two pixels' width might make the difference. If 128x128 won't work anywhere on the photo, then I hand-draw a smaller selection as needed, and go from there.

Do not worry so much about the minimum of 128x128. The absolute minimum size is 64x64 and the more you have the better. Also, there is no big difference from the standpoint of profiling between 127x127 and 128x128. So, you don't really have to fight to the last pixel.
