Neat Video & Neat Image community

is there a noise profile for removing dirt and scratches from old scanned in photos. I tried making one by simply scanning in a scratched up black background area of the photo but it wont rid me of the scratches within it??

please help, also, is there a better choice to use in this case for scratches that is not tedious to use??

Neat Image is developed to reduce file grain, which is usually uniformly distributed across photos. Scratches and dirt are usually not uniform, so I don't think Neat Image is the right tool for this purpose. You have to use other tools to eliminate these imperfections.
