Is it possible to use Wolf Faust IT 8.7 slides to create noise profiles for Neat Image?

If it provides large enough featureless areas for analysis by NI then it should be ok.

I plan to scan the target slides with my Minolta 5400 at 5400 dpi. I should have provided that infomation in my initial post.

Will the target slides scanned at 5400 dpi provide large enough featureless areas for analysis by NI?

Neat Image uses featureless areas that are approximately 100x100-pixel large. If the scan will show those target squares being larger than 100x100 then NI will be happy.

I haven't purchased the IT 8 target slides, yet, but I estimate that by scanning at 5400 dpi each color square of the target should be about 200x200 pixels. Each target slide contains 264 color squares and 24 larger grey scale rectangles. I assume, therefore, that by using all or many of the squares and rectangales, NI should make an extremely good profile.

I am sure it will. You can also use the Neat Image Calibration Target, it should work very well too.

I made NI profiles with my IT-8 targets for Fuji Velvia 50 and Provia 100f. The results are great.
