Noise Profiles: BW or color calibration?

Post by James M »

Is there some kind of advantage to printing out a color version of the calibration target, instead of the black and white one?
I don't want to waste a lot of color ink, but I want the highest quality available.
Also, is it better to take the pictures on a LCD, or paper?

I have already made some profiles using a laptop lcd, but I don't have access to it now, and need on-paper advise.

Thanks :)

Not much, so you can use the grayscale one just fine. That's why we provide it.

If you can make good shots off an LCD then it should be enough, just make sure to include all areas and shoot out of focus.
