Back several a years ago I put up a poll asking people if they would be interested in the makers of Neat Image developing a better masking (extracting) program.
Few people bothered to give us their input. Too bad.
Perhaps it is considered too difficult so few people think it is useful for them.
Time marches on and Automask, Extensis Maskpro 3.0, Knockout 2 and PShops integrated Extract now have a serious challenger called Fluid Mask from:

This is not your run of the mill, me-too approach to masking, but one that comes from unconventional, creative analysis, that uses multiple approaches to solve the thorny problem of separating an arbitrary foreground object from the background under difficult conditions.
Cutting out a tree in the middle of a street for example is just about impossible with the older programs.
Demo of Mac version can be downloaded. Windows version is expected sometime in December. Cost is $249 (US).
My message to ABSoft is -- could you do it even better?
