Panasonic FZ5 profile FYI

Post by bornd »

I downloaded the FZ5 profile to my G4 iMac running 10.4.3 and all the file names were cut off at 31 characters. As a result, they were greyed out in the list and not selectable when I went to load a profile [ for example... "DMC-FZ5 (ISO200; 4bpp; SharpNor" ]. Once I added ".dnp" to each of them, they worked as they should. Not sure if this was a download problem or a Mac problem or something else, but thought I'd post my experience in case others wish to try the same.

Thanks,
Craig

This issue is most likely caused by the unzipping software you used. Some unzippers may not be able to deal with long folder / file names. Please try another unzipper to see if this helps. The profile set unzips correctly on my computer.

Hope this helps.

Sounds likely. All is good now that I've added the extension to the file names. They're truncated, but contain enough info to differentiate them, so I expect I won't bother with a re-unzip.

Thanks,
