resize --> process layout?

Post by gaetan »

Hello,

I'm considering building noise profiles...

Here's my usual process layout :

RAW shoots (D200) --> DxO Optics Pro Raw converter (Noise engine disabled, DxO lighting medium) --> TIFF 16 bits --> NI processing --> JPEG 8 bits.

The end of the layout is not sure yet. I want to keep 2 versions of a photograph : the 1st one in the native 10Mpxl resolution and the second one is a resize to 6Mpxl in photoshop (not the camera built in resizing).

Is it efficient to process in NI only the 10Mpxl image, save it, then resize it to 6Mpxl in photoshop and save this other version ?

Or is it much better to get a resize from the unprocessed TIFF, and then to process each one in Neat Image ?

Thank you in advance,

Gaëtan

PS : Software bought :wink:

I think it is better to reduce noise in the original resolution, that is in 10mpxl TIFF images. Resizing may make noise more difficult to reduce.
