Ideal Workflow

Post by Roy »

HI, I am new to the use of NI. I have had some wonderful results, thank you.

I take a large number of Netball images using a 70-200 IS lens and need to batch process.

I have adopted this workflow and wondered if it was ideal.

1. Crop image if required.
2. Adjust levels
3. Adjust curves.
4 Filter in NI
5. Sharpen.

This seems to work for me until my last batch when the sharpening seemed to remove the effect of NI.

Try to apply stronger noise reduction (higher noise reduction amounts) OR weaker sharpening OR use NI sharpening.

Hope this helps,

Goodness me, from me to you via a space station, read, answered and sent back the same way in a few minutes, brillliant.

I will try that, but is my workflow ok up to the point I use neat image?
You wouldn't use NI before any other manipulation?

Yes, normally we recommend to use NI before any other post-processing but in principle it can work in any part if you build and use noise profiles in the same part.
