Building device profiles with raw conversion

I finally get my first digicam, and need to build a set of NI device profiles for it. I will be shooting raw, and can't find anything in the NI manual about how raw conversion fits in building the device profiles, and how to apply NI to raw files. Here are two general questions:

1. Should I shoot the calibration target in raw and apply raw conversion to it first before building the device profiles?

2. When I shoot in raw, should I apply NI before or after raw conversion? This obviously depends on how the first question is answered.

1. Yes, that is the correct procedure. Please also note that conversion settings because this may affect the noise properties.

2. You should apply NI after RAW conversion. Usually, NI should go first after receiving an image from converter.
